Thomas Borer Urges Swiss Government to Outline COVID-19 Plan Beyond Easter
In a guest commentary for CH-Media newspapers, Thomas Borer, former head of the Swiss Crisis Staff – Second World War and former ambassador to Berlin, calls on the Swiss Federal Council to clearly communicate its COVID-19 strategy beyond Easter 2020. While praising the government’s measures and transparency so far, Borer stresses that citizens, authorities, businesses, and hospitals must know what will happen after April 19. He warns that uncertainty is particularly harmful during a crisis and urges Parliament to strengthen democratic oversight, including holding an extraordinary special session.
