Dr. Thomas Borer on AP: Dormant Holocaust-Era Accounts and Swiss Banking Secrecy

Dr. Thomas Borer appears in an interview with the AP in 1997 as a Swiss special envoy in negotiations concerning dormant accounts in Swiss banks with potential Holocaust connections. Borer maintains that Swiss banking secrecy is not put in jeopardy by the release of information on these accounts, as “we are talking about are accounts which were dormant for 50 years. That means nobody ever claimed them, and there the banking secrecy does not have any more standing”. He further addresses Swiss trade with Japan during the Second World War.
